L2 Cache The desktop version dual-core Pentium D processor uses separate 1MB cache memory banks dedicated to each core. In the Intel Core Duo processor, a single 2MB cache memory bank is available to both cores, reducing the chance that data will have to leave the chip to be temporarily stored in a system`s main memory bank. This means that one core can store a piece of data in the cache that might be needed later by the other core, and the other core can access that data without having to leave the chip. The larger amount of storage allows Intel Core Duo`s cores to spend less time navigating through the front-side bus and more time executing instructions, which will dramatically improve performance.
The shared cache design also allows Intel to eliminate some of the disadvantages of its front-side bus design, which many analysts see as a bottleneck in the dual-core era. Ok, care. Imam predlog za tebe. Uzmi notebook sa Core Duo cpu, pa lepo instaliraj 64 - bit Vistu ili XP. Ako uspes, znaces da si u pravu. Ako ne uspes, znaci da Core Duo nije 64 bit i da nisi u pravu. Veoma jednostavno resenje.

Zar je vazniji podatak da jedan procesor potrosi bateriju za 2h19min, a drugi 2h07min i pritom se ugreje za 5 stepeni vise, nego cinjenica da na jednom procesoru moze da se pokrene samo jedna vrsta OS???????
veoma je vazno na kakvom opterecenju procesora je uradjen taj podatak da je razlika svega 5 stepeni a trajanje baterije 12 min, imam i koristim oba procesora i razlika je mnogo drasticnija, pogotovo sto se tice temperature, by the way oba su 64-bitna i su smesni ljudi koji i dalje tvrde da coreduo nije 64-bitan na kraju krajeva 64 bitni sistemi o softveri i dalje nemaju upotrebljive verzije i svi se okrecu iskoriscavanju vise jezgara sto podatak o 64 ili 32 bitnoj podrsci procesora cini beznacajnim
