`Intel has unveiled a rather odd product that may be overshadowed by bigger CES announcements, but we find the Intel Compute Stick quite interesting.
Intel describes it as a “compute-on-a-stick” device that is ready to go out of the box. The Intel Compute Stick comes preinstalled with Windows 8.1 or Linux, with built in storage, wireless and a microSD slot for expansion. There’s also a micro USB port on board, along with a full sized USB 2.0 port.
The oversized HDMI dongle is about 4 inches long, but under the bonnet it’s a proper PC. Based on a quad-core Atom SoC, the device features 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, which is pretty much standard for Bay Trail tablets. However, we are not entirely sure about the silicon inside - we are probably looking at a Bay Trail part, but there`s a slight chance that it could sport a 14nm Cherry Trail Atom.
This is not exactly a new concept, since a few Chinese vendors have been churning out Bay Trail dongles for months. However, this is the first time Intel dabbled with the concept under its own brand.
The chipmaker says the stick should enable thin-client solutions for small and medium businesses and can be used in lieu of embedded solutions to create lightweight digital kiosks. Just plug it into a touchscreen and you’ve got yourself a kiosk, or POS solution.
The emphasis is not on the living room, but the Intel Compute Stick should have no trouble doubling as an HTPC or streaming solution is many situations.

Druze daj prevedi najvaznije, znaci nemam zivaca ovako pospan da razaznajem sta je pisac hteo da kaze. Btw, otkud ti da `reklamiras` tog ubogog ukletog intela :P

Fina stvarcica zaista, mada nisam siguran koliko stoji ova tvrdnja za dolazak u dnevne sobe.
Po mom misljenju za dnevne sobe - kao neki media centar, surf i mozda neku sitnu igru uz bezicni gamepad je neka android kutijica + popcorn time za filmove i grooveshark za muziku. Mislim da kosta manje od 150$
Ali totalno prakticno za poslovne svrhe, prezentacije za `tegljenje` fajlova i cega sve ne, ali opet tu su cloud servisi tako da sam malo podeljen oko ovog proizvoda.
Mada za firme... Monitor + dongle po zaposlenom mozda moze da ustedi koji dinar, pogotovo ako radnici treba da nose posao sa sobom.

Kao USB flesh, samo što se bode na HDMI i funkcioniše kao Android Box-ovi, samo daleko bolji od toga. Kvad kor Atom SystemOnChip, 10cm dugačak, 2GB RAM-a i 32GB prostora za skladištenje podataka (filmova, muzike, itd)
Ne reklamiram niti kudim ja bilo koga, samo sam postovao interesantnu vest.

Google preveo Intel je predstavio prilično čudan proizvod koji može biti zasjenjen većim najavama HZZ, ali smo pronašli Intel Compute Stick vrlo zanimljiv.
Intel opisuje kao `računanje-na-štap` uređaj koji je spreman izaći iz okvira.Intel Compute Stick dolazi s predinstaliranim Windowsima 8.1 ili Linux, s ugrađenim pohranu, bežični i utor za microSD za širenje. Tu je i micro USB port na ploči, uz pune veličine USB 2.0 porta.
Oversized HDMI dongle je oko 4 inča dugo, ali ispod poklopca motora to ispravno računalo. Na temelju quad-core Atom SoC, uređaj ima 2GB RAM-a i 32GB prostora za pohranu, što je prilično standard za Bay Trail tablete. Međutim, nismo u potpunosti sigurni o silicij unutar - vjerojatno se gleda na zaljev Trail dijelu, ali je mala vjerojatnost da bi to moglo sport 14nm Cherry Trail Atom.
To nije točno novi koncept, jer je nekoliko kineski proizvođači su ponavlja Bay Trail dongles mjesecima. Međutim, ovo je prvi put da Intel bavio s konceptom pod vlastitom markom.
Proizvođač čipova kaže štap treba omogućiti tankog klijenta rješenja za male i srednje poduzetnike, a može se koristiti umjesto ugrađenih rješenja za izradu lagane digitalne kioske. Jednostavno ga uključite u zaslon osjetljiv na dodir, a vi ste je dobio si kiosk, ili POS rješenje.
Naglasak nije na dnevnom boravku, ali Intel Compute Stick ne bi trebao imati problema udvostručenja kao HTPC ili streaming rješenje je mnoge situacije.
Uređaj se očekuje da će lansirati sredinom 2015. godine 149 dolara.

Odlicna stvar! Jedva cekam da se pojavi na trzistu.
Promenio sam nekoliko onih Android TV stikova i ni na jedan nisam uspeo da ubacim full Linux, cak i pored price i gomile snimaka koji potvrdjuju da moze na RK3188. Mozda sam samo glup al` nije mi islo...
@JovanZ Cene su im ispod 50$, ne 150$ =]. Na Aliju sam jednom priliko uhvatio na popustu CX-919 J22 za 35$, sa besplatnom dostavom.
Sem što je ovo kompletan PC na sticku sposoban za daleko više od jednog Android dongle-a.

Polako, 150$ je cena za Intel reference model, biće to dosta jeftinije, kad Asus, GA, MSI, Foxconn i ostali to krenu da štancuju.
Realno to ne košta ni 50$ - HW je sličan kao za tablete, takvi tableti su oko 150$ s tim da njima ogroman deo cene ide na ekran, touch, zaštitno staklo i bateriju - a ovde svega toga nema.
Igrao sam se sa više Android TV uređaja sa RK3066 i sličnim ARM SoC i uglavnom su više igračke/media playeri nego pravi HTPC.
Ovo bi već moglo da bude daleko upotrebljivije, pun x86 HW sa desktop OS-om i sasvim OK performansama za tu veličinu.

ovo malo sranje moze da zavrsi 80% jednog pc nekom za kucanje surf i muziku... odlicno resenje sad 150$ je sad kad krene konkurencija mozda bude i manje...ali za 110-120e + hdmi monitor od 80e :) eto all in one i ne brinete dal ce da rikne pa bacanje sve u kantu... + ovde sve radi mnogo bolje nego na raspalim andoridima...

izgleda da je akcenat dat na mobilnosti uredjaja.Ozbiljan pc u zadnjem dzepu! Sve sto je novo nailazi na otpor,tako je bilo i kada je Apple predstavljao tablet.Valjda je to normalno,ali ce trziste na kraju da kaze poslednju rec.Meni licno se dopada.
Bilo je prije otprilike godinu godinu i po sličnih stikova na Pandawillu za 100$. Nisam se upuštao u datu kupovinu, ali u svakom slučaju interesantan koncept. Još samo da vidim ga na dijelu.
